Free Time

Free Time. It appears that the next week will simply be full of free time for me and David the assistant language teacher at Tachibana. We are saving up all the work we can think of for next week because next week, Tachibana students, excluding myself, have 9 exams in three days. Hence I will be doing my own study in the english office which will become just a little boring. Today there is optional school and believe it or not I genuinely concidered going but then realised that my friends who actually do go will be studying anyway and I do admit that the biggest reason that I like school is the social life. Anyway, the other day after school at about 7pm I was walking with Miki to the station and there was a man handing out fliers like they do a lot here in Japan and so I thought I would be nice and take one from him, make him feel like he was making a difference, which I am sure he was. Anyway, I got close enough to see he was a westerner and I took the brochure and he was laughing heaps as we said `hello` and he told me, `Learn English, it`s fun!`. He was handing out english school brochures! We thought it was a pretty good coincidence seeing that a westerner in Fukushima is as rare as me not eating rice with breakfast, lunch and tea. Must go, my studying is calling me and it isn`t sounding too friendly either! Love Mel xx

You? Melissa Ryan? Goes to school for the social life? Okay, something is wrong here. I can hear your parents now... Oh, I know you are just interested to know but the 5 year uni scholarship is to do basically whatever degree you want with the first year being to learn intensive Japanese. Hey, you have inspired me to start my own blog. "Japanese the Wright Way" of course!! I still have heaps to learn about how to use it though. Check it out! No, perhaps don't. You missed out on your first injection back at school but it is something to look forward to when you get back - there's 3 courses!! And those mountain thingys I mentioned, is chocolate coated biscuits in the shape of mushrooms. You will find them in the same aisle as pokki and chocolate coated almonds. If you want to get a good report you will bring me back a packet!!!!!!!!!
Your soon to be Japanese teacher again.

lol seems like we're both having trouble trying to blog reguarly. i'm in the same boat, with the whole entire getting into a rythm. it makes it difficult, when yu're so busy and have other stuff thats ...well not on the computer.. to do. its almost a hassle. ah well, must keep the parentals updated. anyways, i read in ur favourite books the name John Marsden!!! i'm obsessed with John Marsden's series 'Tomorrow When the War Began', i even joined a forum... hehehe!

anyways, when you mentioned that ur ojiisan was taking forever to choose the right chopsticks for u, how annoying is a situation like that aye. cos ur completely fine with using whatever and yet they take forever to do something for u and u have to act all gracious and thankful and ur like 'my gosh that was completely unecessary!!'

anyways, i should blog sometime soon aye, maybe i will in this week coming, tests for the japanese studens, for me - NOTHING! self study, and yes it is very hard...sigh...self study!

ok i must go,

be well my friendly giant!

peace x

It's so fun with Asians and having food for breakfast, it's so weird. Feels a lot more simple with just some bread, fruits or youghurt. I strongly prefer my bread with a slice of turkey and some cheese on it every morning though... Poor japanese kids who must have all those exams in just 3 days, I am impressed they're able to pull through, I had 3 exams in one week and I thought that was a lot...
Have fun love
