Well the other night i was sitting at my new desk in my new host family`s house and the whole room started to shake. I though, ok this is not good, and it kept going! I was paranoid and just sat there holding onto the desk.. it wasn`t that bad though haha and when it stopped i opened my bedroom door and my whole host family cracked up laughing at my apparently startled face!
They are so lovely and live a bit further into the heart of Fukushima. I have a younger sister and a younger brother and Marina who is my age. Yesterday they took me shopping and to see Maiko! Maiko are Geisha, the dancing kind and i got to have my photo taken with them. They came from Kyoto and after the photo time they performed a traditional Japanese dance and it was so beautiful, the way they do their head and eye thing is amazing!
Today i got handed a map of how to get to school. That should be interesting seeing that i get lost walking around Marion. Marina goes to school super early because of her club so i have to get there by myself. I will just look for the oter tachibana students and follow them if they are heading in the same direction as my map states. After my host mum gave me the map though we went for a practice. It was good, it is a long way though. We also stopped in at this official place so i could register as an alien...
My knees and back are pretty bad after a week and a bit of sitting at these low Japanese tables, it is really painful. I feel so awkward and like the biggest yetti ever but yesterday i saw another foreigner! There was about a trillion people in the elevator and this guy came in and when the doors shut it was silent as we went up and all i could see was a sea of black hair and then me and this guy poking out the top like giants haha.
Food is getting hard to cope with, it certainly is a very different culture! It is good to slurp and burp and make eating sounds which, according to sayumi are `Shaki Shaki` sounds. I get angry at home at my sister if she makes just the slightest noise when we eat but oh my goodness, this place is crazy and i just had to keep looking around at things that wouldn`t make me feel sick and i hate myself for having such a delicate nature haha.
But i do love the awkwardness, i always try to fight the grin that comes onto my face when i am in the most awkward of situations! I smile even though it isn`t funny at all haha.
Well there is a little comparison between Japan and Australia. Thanks a trillion for your comments i absolutely love reading them!

Wow, reading your blog is like reading about my first time in Japan, dare I say 25 years ago. There is an advantage to being tall though in Japan - you can breathe in a crowded train when standing. Now if you want to try some REAL food, then try their chocolate almonds, pocky, cakes... Yummy!! I wrote your school report yesterday. Now, about that oral summative....... All the girls in the Senior School are about to be jabbed with an injection. Poor Rachel! Earthquakes? Get used to them kiddo.
