Sunshine

I woke up today at 7am which is rather lucky and i only got to do so because we have no plans today, these japanese people are very good with their time management haha. I got dressed, a fair few layers yet again and then made sure my room was clean etc. I opened my paper sliding door and said good morning to the whole family but mum and dad left a few minutes later to go to work. So Miki, myself and Grandad had breakfast. Rice, a salad with cold chips, eggplant, lettuce and what looked like cucumber but did not taste like it. There was also miso soup and a very pink fish thing that was really salty but i actually enjoyed. I washed all this down with a cup of coffee which they dont use teaspoons to make which really does not figure in my mind. Then, we sat down and watched this show where there is a guy who is dying and his wife is a writer and it is quite sad, even though it is in Japanese, it is still very sad, just ask Callum R what i am like when it comes to sad Japanese shows haha. Grandad went out so Miki and I took the dogs for a massive walk. It is super cool out there in Fukushima, i am in love. We went into Mikis primary school and it was super cool and i even cried, because i read this really sad book which was again in Japanese but i definately will hunt it down in a book shop because it is the saddest book i have ever read in my entire life. (It was a childrens book with pictures). Anyway, the cherry blossoms have started to bloom and have come out of no where so i got great pictures. We got home about twenty minutes ago and had lunch which was sandwiches, how japanese...
Now i am writing this and yeah, have no massive plans, just relaxing while you are all at school and work...

The language barrier is so difficult, my japanese is for sure improving but they dont talk the way we are taught it, Ms Wright, i thank you a trillion times over for introducing me to the plain form, i would be dead by now if i did not know it.

Anyway, it has only been a week and what a busy week it has been but i already feel pretty good in this home but i change on the 31st to Marina Yokouchi`s house so it is kind of exciting.

Until later, Melissa xxx

I forgot to add in a few things! First of all thankyou so much for your comments they are so awesome and put the biggest smile on my already smiling face!

Also, today there was the sun, thats why the post is called sunshine and the reason we went for a super massive walk. I still don`t know what club i will go in, there are so many choices and dad you know what i am like when it comes to decisions. So keep up the awesome commenting, hopefully when i get to school i might have a free where i can email you more, seeing that i loose the lot if i do it on this computer, then you might get pictures too!

Love you all as much as i love japan haha

Yeah to me and the plain form!! Make sure to check out the stars caus you are in the northern hemisphere now. Actually, good luck if you can even see the stars. Trackies are packed and they are all going to the uniform shop this afternoon to buy bits and pieces. Yumi sensei showed me how to do traditional tea last night. Join a club that you not have an opportunity to join if you were here. That is why I did kendo-something completely different and you get a cool uniform with it. Farewell Party tonight for the Tachibana students and then we all head off to the airport tomorrow morning. Please say hello to Mr Hiraiwa (Akira) for me. He was the English teacher who came here last year.
Go Ruby!!

Hey thankyou so much for the trackies and i think Kendo is the way to go!

Also, sorry everyone, i forgot to ALSO ADD the fact that i am stared at every where i go.

When i went with Miki and Ajisa shopping, people looked at me weird and i didn`t think anything of it until i realised that i was the only westerner there! Then it clicked. It is the strangest feeling, even today on our walk i got stared at by people in the cars and these kids playing soccer were pointing and i kept hearing Gaijin..

Anyway, it doesn`t upset me what so ever, if i was here for 10 months i would probably be sick of it but i am not here long enough to be annoyed haha, it is actually kind of cool. Also, all the older ladies comment on how tall i am and they like sus me out completely but they say i am in `perfect proportion`.. says Miki, they could be thinking i am fat for all i know hahaha, nah they seem to be impressed. It is so awkward when people are looking at you, nodding to each other and approving your figure, it really is kind of .. strange haha. Oh well, it is cool, part of being the only Australia for a radius of trillions of kilometers!

Love you all x

Hi Smiley, Glad your enjoying it and yes i was only thinking prior to you leaving ??What the hell....she may be faced with making a quick decision?? I was however glad to see that it was in relation to the choice of clubs and not what train station to get off at!
Photo's? YES!! I'll bet your camera groans when it sees you coming.. (photo's are a good thing) try and make sure you are in some of them!...The Japanese are experts at operating cameras!
Take it easy and soak it all up. Love you heaps..Dad :-)
